Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model in improving student learning outcomes and participation. The method used is quantitative research with a pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of students who participated in learning with the TPS model, while the instruments used included learning outcome tests and student activity observation sheets. The results of the study showed that the application of the TPS model was able to significantly improve student learning outcomes, which was shown by the increase in average scores and the acquisition of N-Gain in the medium to high category. In addition, student participation in the learning process has also increased, especially in discussion and opinion delivery activities. However, there is a variation in improved learning outcomes between students, which shows that not all students experience an equal improvement. The conclusion of this study is that the Think Pair Share learning model is effective in improving student learning outcomes and participation, and can be used as an alternative innovative learning strategy to create more active and collaborative learning.
