The Implementation of Tadabbur Alam Activities as a Strategy to Enhance the Creativity and Moral Character of Children at Harapan Kita
Abstract
Early childhood education is a form of education that plays an important role in establishing the foundation for children's development, including cognitive, social-emotional, language, physical-motor, and creative development, as well as the development of religious and moral values. During early childhood, children are at a stage of very rapid growth and development, which requires appropriate, enjoyable educational stimulation that is consistent with their developmental characteristics. Therefore, the learning process in early childhood education should not focus solely on academic abilities but should also be directed toward character formation, creativity development, and the cultivation of noble moral values in everyday life. One learning approach that can be used to support early childhood development is nature-based learning, or Tadabbur Alam. Tadabbur Alam is an activity that involves observing, identifying, understanding, and reflecting upon the various creations of Allah SWT found in the surrounding environment. Through this activity, children are given opportunities to interact directly with nature, such as observing plants, identifying different types of animals, paying attention to changes in the environment, and learning about the benefits of objects found around them. This activity can provide meaningful learning experiences because children acquire knowledge not only through the teacher's explanations but also through observation, experience, and direct involvement. From the perspective of Islamic education, Tadabbur Alam has significant value because nature is one of the signs of the greatness and power of Allah SWT. This is in accordance with the words of Allah SWT in Surah Ali 'Imran, verses 190–191, which explain the signs of Allah's greatness in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day for those who reflect. The values contained in these verses can be introduced to children through simple activities appropriate to their age.
