Abstract

The development of digital technology influences students’ lives, both in terms of accessing information and shaping their daily attitudes and behavior. The use of technology without adequate self-control may lead to various problems, such as a lack of discipline, difficulties in managing emotions, and reduced attention to learning activities. This study aims to describe the implementation of religious guidance in developing self-control and positive behavior among students at Al-Khairat Mautong Islamic Boarding School. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data are collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The planned number of research informants is seven, consisting of one boarding school leader or administrator, two mentors or Islamic religious teachers (ustaz/ustazah), and four students. Data are analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The aspects examined include congregational worship, moral education, religious advice, the development of discipline, emotional regulation, and education on the responsible use of digital technology. The research findings must be based on field evidence obtained during the research process. This study is expected to provide an overview of the role of religious guidance in supporting students’ character development in the digital era.
